This all-in-one training program covers both essential traffic control skills and advanced site implementation:
Traffic Controller (Blue Card) Training:
- Stop and direct traffic using a stop/slow bat
- Work Health & Safety (WHS) compliance
- Traffic Control Guidance Schemes (TCGS) & Traffic Control Plans (TCPs)
- Managing pedestrian and vehicle flow on worksites
- Incident reporting & risk management
Implement Traffic Control Plans (Yellow Card) Training:
- Set up and manage worksite traffic control
- Place signage, barriers, and devices
- Adjust traffic control based on real-time conditions
- Supervise other traffic controllers
- Emergency response planning

Where does White Card fit in?
You'll need to compelte a White Card course first. A White Card is mandatory to work on any construction or traffic control site in NSW. A Traffic Control site fits this definition.
Class Size
Maximum class size for this course is 12 students for our 2-day traffic control course - larger groups can be arranged for 3 day courses.
Course Requirements
- A Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- A SafeWork NSW White Card
- Photo ID with your current address
- Basic understanding of English (spoken & written)
What to Wear for Traffic Control Training
When attending a Traffic Control course, it's important to dress appropriately for both safety and comfort. Please wear comfortable clothing and high-visibility (hi-vis) attire suitable for an active training environment. Fully enclosed footwear is essential-no open-toed shoes or sandals are permitted.
As parts of the training are conducted outdoors, we recommend bringing a hat and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. If wet weather is forecast, please bring a rain jacket or suitable wet-weather gear, as training may continue in light rain. Being prepared will help ensure your comfort and safety throughout the course.

Outcome/Qualifications
123 Training Solutions delivers this course in partnership with Commonsense Safety Training (RTO code 41347). Commonsense Safety Training is not CRICOS Registered. Successful participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for:
- RIIWHS201D – Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
- RIICOM201D – Communicate in the workplace
- RIIWHS205E – Control traffic with stop/slow bat
- RIIWHS206 – Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs
- RIIRIS301E – Apply risk management process
- RIIWHS302E – Implement traffic management plans
- RIIWHS303 – Position, set up and program portable traffic devices
Students receive a temporary certificate allowing them to work immediately while awaiting their SafeWork NSW card.
