Driver Fatigue Training Summary

The Driver fatigue training takes approximately 4 hours and is intended for individuals who require the knowledge and skills to apply fatigue management strategies to reduce fatigue during working activities. Driver fatigue management is conducted on-site at our Newcastle premises (MAP). Full Driver fatigue management costs $375.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is run to accommodate legislative and regulatory requirements as stipulated within the national implementation of the Compliance and Enforcement model legislation (Chain of Responsibility). It is aimed at drivers that operate truck and trailer combinations over 12 tonne GVM and 12+ seater buses and for heavy vehicle drivers who wish to extend their driving hours from 12 to 14 hours.

About the Course

The TLIF0030 - Fatigue management course will provide the participants with skills and knowledge relating to the application of fatigue management strategies. Examples include identifying and acting upon signs of fatigue, as well as implementing strategies to minimise fatigue during driving.

It will offer course participants with a familiarisation of relevant legislations, including management and guidelines of State and Commonwealth authorities.

Participants should be able to speak and understand English as all the course material, training notes and assessments are done in English.

Qualifications

123 Training Solutions conduct Fatigue Management courses in partnership and on behalf of Raise Training (RTO Number: 91655).

Successful participants will receive a Statement of Attainment (TLIF0030 – Apply a fatigue risk management system) and thus considered competent in the management of driver fatigue and aware of all compliance requirements.

ACA-Fatigue & Superseded Units

From the 1st August 2026, the Alternative Compliance Accreditation – Fatigue (ACA-Fatigue) scheme replaces previous BFM & AFM modules. With this, updated courses for both drivers, and schedulers, have been released to cover the changes.

Any previously completed units (as listed below) are still recognised, but completing the new units as refresher training is highly recommended.

The course duration is approximately 4-5 hours and includes an on-the-job practical application plan.
