Dangerous Goods Awareness Summary
The Dangerous Goods Awareness course takes half a day to complete and is intended for anyone who may handle dangerous goods and/or hazardous substances. Dangerous Goods Training is conducted on-site at our Newcastle premises (MAP), and also in Sydney (map) twice per month - once on a weekend, and once during the week. Full Dangerous Goods Awareness Costs $325.

Who Is This Course For?
This course is suitable for stores persons, administration staff, stock pickers, forklift operators and drivers of unlicensed dangerous goods loads.
It is intended for anyone working in the transport, warehousing, distribution and storage industries who may handle dangerous goods and/or hazardous substances or documentation for dangerous goods.
COVID-19
In relation to the coronavirus we have implemented measures to protect both our students and staff in these trying times. We are closely following the advice from the Australia Department of Health, and adopting the strictest personal hygiene measures in our cars, trucks, and places of work.
We have limited non-training staff, by having our administration staff work from home. Course sizes have also been limited to ensure that our training spaces have a minimum of 4 square meters per person.
All our students are being advised that they must reschedule if they::
- Have returned from overseas within the last 14 days
- Been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 14 days
- Been advised to self-isolate in the last 14 days
- Experiencing symptoms like: cough, fever, runny nose, shortness of breath, or any other respiratory illness.
- Been to any COVID-19 hotspots during the time and date indicated on the nsw.gov.au website
About The Course
This course gives an introduction to hazardous/dangerous goods for handlers of dangerous goods and covers:
- Identification and classification of Dangerous and Hazardous Goods.
- Selection of handling and storage techniques.
- Handling Dangerous Goods.
- Preparing documentation relating to the transport of dangerous goods.
The course is designed to meet workplace training obligations relating to Division 3, Clause 22 of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code (Seventh Edition).
Regulatory Considerations
According to the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods (7th Edition), anyone involved in the transportation, storage and handling of dangerous goods is required, by law, to undergo appropriate training.
In order to meet these requirements, we recommend that this Dangerous Goods Awareness course be undertaken every five (5) years. ~ This timeframe is in line with the requirements of the ADG Code (7th edition) and the NSW Environmental Protection Agency, the licensing authority for Dangerous Goods Driver Licences in New South Wales.
Qualifications
123 Training Solutions conduct the Dangerous Goods Awareness course in partnership with and on behalf of Raise Training (RTO Number: 91655).
Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment. TLID2003 Handle Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Substances.
Course Duration
This training program is approximately 4-6 hours depending on an individual's prior knowledge of the industry and learning needs.
